Major Russian Attacks Cut Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and applying sanctions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, according to municipal representatives.

Local officials said the city experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and several individuals were injured.

The assaults follow evenings of air raids in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to identify.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were anticipating more assaults.
